GACE Committee Recruiting
The Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) selected Educational Testing Service (ETS) to develop and administer the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators® (GACE®). The GACE program helps the GaPSC meet its goal of ensuring that candidates have the knowledge and skills needed to perform the job of an educator in Georgia public schools. The GACE assessments are aligned with state and national standards for educator preparation and with state standards for the P–12 student curriculum (The Common Core Georgia Performance Standards [CCGPS]).
The GaPSC and ETS are seeking certified P–12 Georgia educators as well as educator preparation faculty (inclusive of deans, department chairs, directors, etc.) from state-approved educator preparation program providers to help develop and maintain the GACE assessments. Committees participate in reviews of assessment frameworks, test forms and test questions, and test preparation materials.
As a certified Georgia educator or an educator preparation faculty member, you are encouraged to apply or nominate a colleague to participate in the GACE test development process by serving on one of the committees.
Learn more about the committees.
Committee meetings are held at various times throughout the year, both in person and virtually, as test development needs require. If your application to serve on one of the committees is approved, you will be sent the upcoming committee meeting dates when your participation is needed. Please keep in mind that your application may be held for several months before you are contacted.
Why Should I Participate?
As a participant on a committee you will:
- earn Professional Learning Units (PLU) for meeting participation, if applicable
- have the opportunity for professional growth and to work in collaboration with other educators
- help build and maintain quality assessments for Georgia educators
What Are the Requirements to Participate on a Committee?
Each of the committees is broadly inclusive of both certified Georgia educators and faculty members from state-approved educator preparation program providers. Learn more about the specific participation requirements.
